About Laurie

Hello friends! My name is Laurie Goodlad.  I am a firm believer in kickstarting each day with a dose of gratitude, paired with the warmth of a good cup of coffee.  I have had the chance to live in many different places in beautiful British Columbia and  Whitehorse, YT, teaching me that home is truly what you make it. Returning to the Kootenays with my husband Joe and our two pups has been the best!  Our house is ruled by Harry & Gus the magnicifient duo! (dogs). Living in Cranbrook has given me the opportunity to watch our nieces and nephew grow up and be an active part in their lives.  

Growing up in a family of five our holidays were made up of camping, fishing and being outside.  We were regulars at Christina Lake, where I made many senior friends.  I would play cards with them and listen to their stories with great interest.  I have always found people, their stories and life experinces fasinating.  When we would pack up the camping gear I would get out my pen and paper where I would penpal with all my senior friends from Christina Lake.  I could hardly wait to recieve letters back, yes via snail mail.  

Having owned a couple of small businesses it taught  me  to rise to challenges and there are no short cuts!  Hard work, ethics, and continually striving each day is the path to being successful.  Returning to Cranbrook I have become an avid volunteer for many different events within our community.  I served as a member of the Cranbrook Rotary club for 10 years, Cranbrook Hospice and currently a director for Nexus Community Support Society.  

With a heart for community and a keen understanding of the unique charm Cranbrook has to offer, I look forward to not just facilitating transactions but building lasting relationships.
